Current EV owners are a self-selecting group – well off enough to afford one, the facilities to charge off street, and a second car for when the EV doesn’t cut it. It’s not surprising that 80% of this group charge at home.

The small percentage of the population which can afford both the initial cost and inconvenience of purchasing an EV at the moment, can mostly afford to charge at home, are also a select group which can arrange at the public or their company expense to have chargers at work.
