Why car parks will eventually BAN all EVs

After the catastrophic Luton Airport car park fire, increasing regulation will mean that many car park operators will simply ban EVs from entering.

New regulations proposed in the UK will cost so much to implement that many car parks will be forced to exclude EVs and other vehicles with lithium ion batteries.

Requirements include:

  1. Improvements to Fire Suppression Systems
  2. Increased structural fire resistance
  3. Increased distance between parked cars
  4. Greater volumes of firefighting water supplies
  5. Control for water runoff
  6. Thermal imaging cameras to detect early signs of thermal runaway

  1. They test what happens to gas powered cars when it by a train, seen it on youTube I wonder what it would happen to and EV, especially with the batteries.
